Services

At Atypical Minds, we provide psychological assessment and therapy tailored to the diverse ways people think, feel, learn, and relate. Our approach is neurodiversity-affirming, respectful, and grounded in collaborative, evidence-based practice.

We support children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, offering both in-person sessions in Perth and telehealth across Australia for accessibility and flexibility.

Our services include:

  • Comprehensive psychological assessments, including diagnostic, cognitive, and educational assessments (Autism, ADHD, giftedness, and Specific Learning Disorders (SLDs))

  • Therapeutic support using evidence-based modalities such as DBT, EFT, CBT, and IPT, adapted for neurodivergents

  • Parent, caregiver, and family consultations to support understanding, communication, and co-regulation, based on Dr Ross Greene's Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (CPS) framework

  • School and workplace collaboration, including advocacy, adjustments, and recommendations to support wellbeing and inclusion

We also recognise that life circumstances vary, which is why we aim to keep services flexible, offering telehealth options, reduced-fee sessions, and occasional bulk-billing for those experiencing genuine financial hardship.

Bulk-Billing and Financial Accessibility

We believe that quality psychological support should be accessible to those who genuinely need it. We understand that financial pressures, unexpected life events, and ongoing responsibilities can make it difficult to prioritise therapy.

For this reason, we occasionally offer bulk-billing (no out-of-pocket cost) to clients who are experiencing significant financial hardship. This option is provided at the psychologist’s discretion and is designed to ensure that essential care remains available to those who would otherwise have to go without.

We kindly ask that clients only request bulk-billing if they truly need it. As a small private practice, each session fee directly supports the sustainability of our service, covering essential costs such as room rent, professional registration with AHPRA, Medicare compliance requirements, professional indemnity insurance, supervision, ongoing professional development, administration, and time spent preparing for sessions. Without these contributions, it becomes difficult to maintain the quality, ethical standards, and continuity of care that we strive to provide.

By choosing to pay the standard session fee when you are able, you help us continue offering flexible, inclusive, and neurodivergent-affirming services to others who may be in more difficult circumstances.

If you’re experiencing financial stress, please let us know, we’re always open to discussing options such as reduced-fee sessions, payment plans, or short-term bulk-billing to help you stay engaged in therapy and have access to assessments.
